Get the most out of your membership by staying active and involved!
Each committee and council is a vital part of the Association. Committees conduct much of the work that leads to meaningful results for members. Additionally, these committees are a valuable training ground for future senior leadership of the HMCBA Board of Directors because many of the Board’s decisions are based on informed recommendations from HMCBA committees and councils.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is responsible for planning membership promotions and events, helping with the growth and retention of membership, member engagement and education, and the recognition of Spike members. This Committee offers several opportunities for networking and is a great way to meet new members and gain recognition from your peers!
Sales & Marketing Council
The Sales and Marketing Council strives to connect members and provide a forum to exchange ideas, develop professional skills, and network with other building industry peers. Through innovative educational programs and networking events, the SMC provides valuable tools for sales and marketing professionals, which result in a smarter, stronger homebuilding industry.
Young Professionals
Join Building industry professionals, under 45, for professional development, networking opportunities and community service projects. This committee provides guidance on ways to enhance the younger member’s association experience and provide insight on mentoring, leadership training and entrepreneurial and general education for emerging industry professionals.
Ambassadors Team
The Ambassadors Team (A-Team) is HMCBA’s very own team of rock star volunteers. They are responsible for greeting members at events and making new members feel welcome. A-Team helps new members get the most out of their membership from day one! These volunteers also look for opportunities to connect new members with other professionals in the industry to cultivate beneficial relationships.
Associate Council
The Associate Council is the elected council of Associate members who work to promote the following events for the Association: Spring Home + Garden Show, Fall Home + Garden Show, Bass Tournament and Golf Tournament. There are a limited number of seats available, and only one person per member firm may serve on the council. Service begins in January of each year; however, spots may open throughout the year. If interested, your name will be placed on the ballot for election to the council.
Governmental Affairs Council
The Governmental Affairs Committee works as HMCBA’s guiding component for government advocacy. This council meets monthly to discuss regularity and other issues impacting the Homebuilding industry. This council also holds quarterly round table meetings with elected officials such as the Mayor of Huntsville or Madison, the County Commission Chair, or Huntsville Utilities. Participation in this committee is a great way to stay informed and help advocate for the homebuilding industry.
Professional Women in Building
The Professional Women in Building Council (PWB) is the voice of women in the building industry. The council is dedicated to promoting industry professionalism and supporting members. Through education, professional development and networking opportunities, PWB helps members acquire and develop invaluable leadership and business management skills that boost career success.
